This year’s Candy Cane Fun Run will be held on Saturday, December 1st from 9:00-10:30AM at PCE. This annual event helps collect food and funding for the Brazos Valley Food Bank. It is a great opportunity for students, parents, siblings and friends to truly make a difference in the community.
Admission to the event is one can of food, or more! Monetary donations are also accepted; please make checks payable to the Brazos Valley Food Bank. If you cannot attend the Fun Run, you can make donations beforehand. Boxes for each grade will be located by the office beginning Tuesday, November 27th.
Items most needed at the Food Bank include beans (canned or dried), canned meats (tuna, chicken, ham, etc.), boxes of cereal (all sizes), cereal bars, chili, coffee, canned fruits/ vegetables, peanut butter, rice, ravioli, pasta and soups.
The morning of the Fun Run, students, parents and siblings run or walk the halls of the school while collecting candy canes! Cookies and hot chocolate will be served. Be sure to bring your camera and take some fun photos! More information will be going out in Monday folders soon!
This year we have two fun contests going on. First, the grade that collects the most canned food (based on weight) will receive an extra recess! Second, if Pebble Creek Elementary collects at least 1 TON of food, Mrs. Grande and Mr. Whileyman will compete in a fun surprise that will be announced soon!
Donations of non-perishable food or money will be accepted ($1=5 pounds of food). All canned goods and money will be donated to the Brazos Valley Food Bank. Overall, it’s a fun, festive event where PCE Panthers and families can truly make a difference in our community. We look forward to seeing you at the Candy Cane Fun Run.
